The Kestrel 48 is designed for medium-length excursions or adventures that require a limited amount of equipment. This roomy backpack can hold plenty of gear for your multi-day adventures. Accessing them is very easy, thanks to the large side zip opening that goes from the lid to the lower compression straps. This will make it easy to reach equipment or find exactly what you're looking for. The Kestrel 48 also has top access under the lid with a drawstring closure, as well as a lower sleeping bag compartment with a removable divider.
The Kestrel's lumbar support system was designed for comfort and stability. With the proven AirScape back, hip belt and ruggedly designed harness, these packs will carry heavy loads in comfort. The adjustable design allows you to easily customize the back height by means of a velcro torso panel.
The Kestrel 48 has multiple compartments to store all your hiking essentials, including reinforced nylon water bottle pockets, two zippered hipbelt pockets, a large quick-access front pocket, a lid pocket, a under the lid with a key hook and an externally accessible hydration system pocket.
Finally, the Kestrel 48 is equipped with everything you need for outdoor life: integrated and removable rain cover, Osprey's Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment, numerous compression straps, sleeping pad straps, eyelets for ice tools and numerous eyelet attachments.
