MATERIALS
Primary texture
3-layer fabric (180 g / m2) with polyamide exterior, weft stretch. It is coupled to a particular extremely soft and compact polyester jersey, by lamination with a waterproof (10,000 mm water column), breathable (10,000 g / sqm / 24h) and windproof polyurethane membrane. The water-repellent TEFLON EcoElite ™ treatment (PFC FREE DWR) protects it from external humidity and rain: the fabric does not absorb water, dries quickly even after multiple washes. This special finish ensures the absence of fluorinated compounds harmful to the environment. ANTIUV: UPF50 +.
Secondary texture
Comfortemp®: Ultralight polyester wadding (100 g / m2) designed to offer thermal insulation, maximum lightness and freedom of movement. The particular construction prevents the fibers from escaping from the fabrics and can be easily washed. This innovative insulation combines the advantages of down and wadding fillings in a quality that has never been previously achieved. This thermal insulation is superior to conventional padding while being as light and soft as down. Comfortemp® is an innovative alternative to down, it ensures excellent breathability and maintains a uniform structure even after washing, ensuring no cold spots.
PFC FREE CLOTHING. Traditional rain jackets repel water through synthetic compounds known as PFCs (perfluorocarbons). PFCs have been used for many years as Durable Water Repellent (DWR), surface treatments of outdoor clothing, equipment and footwear. This finishing helps waterproof materials to repel water and impurities. Without this invisible barrier, water and dirt would pass through the layers giving a damp and wet feeling, drastically reducing comfort. The chemical bond formed between fluorine and carbon, found in PFCs, is one of the strongest chemical bonds known to date: for this reason, PFC does not degrade rapidly in the environment; traces of it have been found that can be accumulated in animals and also in humans. This problem, concerning the accumulation of this compound, can cause various effects on human health and the ecosystem and has been the reason for multiple discussions between groups of environmentalists and outdoor clothing companies. A key element in the persistence of PFC in the environment is the length of its chemical structure, or the number of carbon atoms in the structure. Historically, outdoor apparel industries have used long-chain structured PFC (referred to as "C8"). In response to concerns about the environmental impact of PFC, major chemical manufacturers have developed shorter-chain compounds (example C6), which may be less persistent. Montura has replaced the DWR used in the entire outdoor clothing and footwear collection, with the safer C6. That said, the C6 DWR can still be dangerous for the environment and most companies, including Montura, are committed to finding healthier alternatives for the ecosystem: for this reason, DWR PFC FREE treatments have been developed. All brands in the outdoor sector are aware that DWR alternatives without PFC do not have the same durability and performance of the previous C6 and C8. Montura has selected the most performing DWR PFC FREE versions available to date for its products. A PFC garment free * is intentionally made with materials free from water-repellent treatments based on PFC compounds (perfluorocarbons). The external fabrics are treated with an eco-friendly water-repellent finish, PFC-free: it is a non-fluorinated plant-based treatment that guarantees lasting water repellency and is produced with 60 percent renewable raw materials. * The product may contain traces of it.
PERTEX® QUANTUM 58 g / m2: garments made of PERTEX QUANTUM® have the best weight / mechanical performance ratio. This ultralight product is as soft as silk, extremely compressible, with excellent resistance to wear and protection from external humidity, wind and rain: the fabric does not get soaked, it dries quickly thanks to the specific DWR water-repellent treatment that gives long product performances. , even after multiple washes.
